The million dollar question... Can I get a medical certificate with the FAA to fly as a private pilot?  The answer... YES.  Per FAA guidelines I can pass the requirements and hold a Third Class Medical Certificate.  There is a lot of paper work involved and strict guidelines I must adhere to at all times while flying.

Medical FAQ:
  • Q: Do I currently hold a Third Class Medical?
A: Yes!  I finally got one!
  • Q: How long did it take to get my medical certificate?
A: My flight physical was passed on May 21, 2014 and my paperwork was sent out that day.  The FAA scanned all of my paperwork into their system on June 2, 2014.  I received my medical July 7, 2014.
  • Q: What are the requirements for a Type One Diabetic to be able to pass an FAA Third Class Medical?
A: The requirements can be found by clicking here.

Update: I received a new Third Class Medical in May of 2015. It is valid until May 31, 2016.
